There are more than 750,000 known plants in the world. At least that is the current guess. Given that, how are we going to decide, in our individual lifetime, which are the most beneficial to use? Kind of scary isn't it?
Yet in spite of the efforts of pharmaceutical companies to try to find out which plants can be used for patentable medicines, the task is too large. Considering that their main goal is to find specific ingredients in plants that can be isolated and used to treat some illness, and thereby make a large profit.
Plants have been used for health and wellness ever since humankind woke up to find they were living in a world filled with many useful plants. The great thing about using plants (herbs) for individual health is that you don't need to use all of them. Most people can do just fine, thank you, with the herbs found in this list.
This was pulled together from private lists of individual herbalists working in conjunction with the California School of Herbal Studies. This is a great list. If you understand all the benefits you could get from keeping a stock of these herbs in one or more of their forms, and if you understand how they can be best used, you should be on your way to improved health and vitality.
The great thing about this collection is that many hundreds of years have proven the benefits these brought to individuals and to cultures. It is about time that we get away from the concept of "socialized medicine" and come to terms with what each of us can do -- for ourselves.
It is important to stock up now -- with both the herbs and the knowledge of how and when to use them.
