Health and Wellness
How do you feel about wellness and health? Are you worried that because you don't feel well, you don't know what to do? Perhaps you have heard about cults who tell you that you should "trust God and not doctors." Is this right? Or are there things you can do that can greatly improve your health and wellness?
When wellness becomes a big business it is possible for conflicts of interest to cloud the motivations of the health practitioners. This doesn't help you very much when your life is on the line. So how can you deal with this?
Masses of Knowledge
Everybody should go to a large university and visit the medical bookstore. Here you can find hundreds of large books that go into great detail about some small part of your body. I was shocked when I visited the medical bookstore at the University of California at Berkeley. I found it hard to imagine how any single individual could absorb and retain the millions of pages written about human life. It is not possible. The result, of course, is that those studying to become our medical doctors must become specialists.
When I was in college my first major was biological science and physiology. It was fascinating to learn at least a little about how our bodies functioned. I even discovered that some of what was written in the physiology book was wrong. That really makes matters worse: not only is there a massive collection of knowledge, but some of it may be wrong. This happens, of course, when something is not completely understood.
So where does that put us who suffer the ills that the world has created?
I believe that I am a victim of genetically altered food. For example, most corn and soy products are produced from genetic engineered seed. This includes high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and tofu. I know that many people could care less about tofu, but more than 95% of the population eats or drinks a lot of HFCS. The result: English speaking countries have the highest rate of adult onset diabetes.
I am one of those sufferers. As a result my body is reacting to the the diabetes and I fight a constant battle to control my blood sugar levels. But I am not alone. There are millions of us. And there are others who may not have diabetes but some other problem.
Now this is not intended to focus on the big problems being caused by allowing altered genetic material to become part of our DNA.
That is bad. No question!
But what I feel compelled to write about here is how you can work with the system of health we have -- in a way that can get results.
I wrote someplace that "all problems in life have spiritual solutions." The hard part, I guess, is learning how to arrive at them.
Most people go through life striving and struggling. They approach life without hope. They think that if they "try" hard enough, that things may work out. But often they are met with failure time after frustrating time. Most often they get an idea about "how" life should be for them, and "what" they want or expect the solution to be. Then they strive after that.
This is the way most people approach their spiritual life, and health and wellness. Then they wonder why they fall victim to religious cults and our medical system.
Few have the patience to wait for the solution to come to them.
Our life is at stake in this world. All of us will face death at sometime. Although when we are young that is the farthest thing from our mind. The young are "immortal" in their own way of thinking, and, unfortunately, this can get them a wealth of trouble. Then this sorry mess stays with them throughout life.
When humankind found itself on earth, it had no knowledge of either life or death. If we can believe the Scriptures, and I think we can, it must have been a strange feeling to suddenly wake up having no idea who you were and why you were here. This is an experience of total vulnerability that could drive a person of today mad!
I find this interesting and fascinating. The Scriptures say that the dead know nothing. They have no thoughts or dreams. This is called "the sleep of death."
Now I am aware of what some call "soul sleep." But this is a result of not understanding the Scriptures. The "soul" or "nephesh" is a living being. Adam "became" a living soul (physical being). And Ezekiel was told, "The soul (living physical being) that sins will die." The immortal soul is a byproduct of mythology. It sprang out the desire to live and never die.
Does that mean we are without hope in this world?
Absolutely not!
We have great hope only we don't know about it. But it will come because it has been promised to us.
That raises questions that should bring some reality to our consciousness.
First, who made these promises?
Promises form the spine of the message of Scripture. They were made by our creator Family who gave us life from the beginning. Does it make sense that the One who gave us life
should then leave us to die in our own misery without hope? That would be some kind of bad joke, would it not?
But the history of the Scriptural process shows that Their purpose was to establish a relationship with our early fathers so that they could pass on to us the promised hope. These promises consisted of statements from the Supreme Source who tells us through our fathers that "I will " do this or that and "I will lead you" into the promised future.
Second, agreements and covenants were also made
In additions to promises, agreements and covenants were made and ratified between the two parties -- one spiritual (immortal) and the other physical (mortal). One of these agreements was if we keep His commands and guard His words we shall live. And if we don't then we will die. These covenants were made by our early parents and were confirmed to be perpetual upon all generations. Therefore, we still live under a life and death agreement.
How are we doing?
Right now, I have to conclude that we are all very far removed from where we should be spiritually. Following a religion and performing religious acts won't get us back to that relationship. Only decisions to change our ways based on the right knowledge with understanding and wisdom can help us get back on the road to a real spiritual relationship such as our fathers had.
OK! What does that have to do with health and wellness?
There are several areas in our life for which we need health and wellness.
Physical Financial Relational Mental Educational Spiritual
However, the real solutions eventually come from spiritual sources. That means that if we have problems related to our bodies, we can find solutions from the Spiritual realm.
I realize this is a "big pill to swallow." (Pun intended.)
But it really does work!
When our proto-parents, as humans, first found that they were alive and living on this planet, they had to make an adjustment. Adam and Eve were made and not born. The rest of us were born and we don't remember much from our first three or four years. But way back our parents found themselves in a strange place and vulnerable. It is hard to imagine what went through their minds, but at least Adam had the ability to analyze the creatures he saw around him and and give them names. He could do that to the plants as well.
One of the first things he was told was interesting and enlightening, The plants were food. They also learned that the plants were good for medicine! In other words, our health is directly tied to the plants.
The Hebrew word translated "medicine" means something that "repairs, heals, or cures." Therefore we ought to expect that some answers for our health will point us to the plants. But we will need help finding those answers.
Knowledge and understanding are a spiritual gift.
Depending upon our spiritual health, we may or may not find answers that will improve our bodies, minds, and spirit.
That means that we must start with our Spiritual health, which is my purpose and desire for this blog. It is something to which I believe I have been called to do, and the words "Write. Write! WRITE!" still echo in my thoughts.
There are some who believe that medicine is against "the will of God." Of course, that doesn't make much sense considering that God provided the plants in the first place.
Also, and here is the key: rather than trusting men and women, we must put our trust in the Creator. But here is where many miss the target. Instead of looking for wisdom, understanding and knowledge, many look for "miracles." The miracle is that we have life!
Here is how to do it ...
The Creator through the Spirit and through Messengers (also in the Spirit) can place thoughts and give wisdom and understanding to anyone -- including those who have been specifically trained in medical practices and knowledge. And this can be done on your behalf, if you trust the powers of the Great Family!
When I went for a routine checkup in July of 2007, I trusted Yahua and the Messengers to make the right thing happen. The experience though difficult and sometimes frightening led the physicians to find things as though by accident. I was in bad shape and didn't know it. And even though I still have some problems my health is getting renewed. I told one physician that I had no idea that I would need to go through so much, and she replied, "You are much better now than when I first saw you in the hospital."
In several cases they really didn't know what my problem was. I told one doctor to give me a thorough blood test. And it was when I went back for the results that she was amazed. She was thinking one thing, but the results and my actions at the time showed something else. I could hardly walk and was admitted to the hospital where they found what I suspected at that time: I had congestive heart failure, and although neither they or I knew it, they also found that I had had a heart attack several months before.
As noted above, part of the problem is that there is too much to learn for the doctors and for us. Therefore, we must have the trust and confidence to rely, not so much on the physicians, but on the Spirit of Elohim to control the circumstances and to put thoughts in minds. This is something over which neither they or we have control, but it can and will happen, in one way or another.
It can happen in every part of our lives, whether our body or our financial situation. The key is trust. Not in people, but in Elohim. Circumstance may look bad, but change can come in an instant. Sometimes it may take a while because we need to grow. But you may go to bed tonight and find your circumstance have changed when you wake up. And if you trust the Creator, then you are in good hands, are you not?
Health and wellness in all facets of our life is possible. That is why I have added this "blog within this blog."
In these pages not only will I offer counseling through articles, but I will also offer products and services that you can take advantage of to improve your life. This will include health related produces, ebooks, and anything else that I find that will be a benefit to you.
Our life starts in the Spiritual from which all creation comes. Therefore, we must change from our trust in the world to solve our problems and only look to Yahua and what His resources can do for us -- through us and through others. The only limitation is how much we are willing to trust Him, obey His commands, and guard His words.
I must build this part of this blog a piece at a time. So please be patient. Also if you have any desires, or wish lists, then let me know by submitting them in comments. If you don't want your comments published, then just say so, and this will remain private between you and me.
All the best,
Timothy J. Sakach, Ph.D.
