In the Prepare the Way World Radio broadcast of August 25, 2010, the subject of Tyre was covered. This includes chapters 26-28 of the book of Ezekiel. During the broadcast it became clear that this was a special part of scripture that had both historical significance and was a prophecy for our day and time. What was revealed was what the abomination that makes desolate is and what we should know about it, and who it really is. However, the most important message was that the “abomination” is actively at work now, and the people he is using don’t even know it.
That may sound a little strange to most people because most are unaware that political and natural events, according to Scripture, are in the hands of powerful and often unseen rulers. For example, in Revelation 8 and 9, there is a list of major natural events coming from deep space. These will afflict the earth with many and varied troubles including, poisonous gases, debris, dust clouds, asteroids, strange eclipses, deep darkness, blood moons, earthquakes, volcanoes, massive storms, and a potential change in earth’s orbit and rotation speed!
Revelation 9 says that all of these catastrophes are the result of the affect of one “king” or “ruler” that goes by the name Abaddon (Hebrew) or Appolyon (Greek). Translated these names mean “wandering destroyer” in Hebrew or simply “destroyer” in Greek.
This one object comes from the “abyss” or deep space and enters our solar system and raises havoc with any objects close enough to be affected by its gravity, gas clouds, debris stream, and size. It is this object that is responsible for all the troubles listed in the first five “trumpets” of Revelation 8 and 9. It is the “king” or supreme ruler over these other things. (Revelation 9.) It is also the “first woe.”
We have not yet experienced the troubles that this “king” will bring to the earth.
However, mankind has and will continue to experience the great troubles that have come and are coming from another “king.” And that one was revealed to Ezekiel many years ago, but sealed until this time.
The Mystery of Tyre
The prophecies of Tyre, a small city located on the coast of Lebanon just north of the border with the land of Israel, tell that it was at one time a major center of world commerce and the wealth of the world was flowing in and out if its massive sea harbor. Nations from all over the world traded in Tyre. Armies from other nations were joined together to guard and protect the city like a Nato army. Craftsmen from many places worked in Tyre to build and maintain the massive sea-going vessels that carried men and good all over the Mediterranean, and even across the Atlantic to the land that later became known as the Americas.
Not only was Tyre one of the greatest commerce hubs of the world, it also carried much political influence on the rest of the world.
Then when it had reached a pinnacle of power in the world, it was made desolate!
The question that came up during the broadcast was WHY?
What did Tyre do that brought such great desolation on its influence and power?
There is a brief introductory phrase at the beginning of chapter 26 of Ezekiel,
The word of Yahua came to me, saying, “Son of man, because Tyre has spoken against Jerusalem, ‘Aha! She, the gateway of the peoples, has been broken, she has been turned over to me. Let me be filled, she has been ruined.’
“Therefore thus said the Master Yahua, ‘See, I am against you, O Tyre, and shall cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up.’”
Then the chapter goes on to explain how Nebuchadnezzar and the armies of Babylon, came against Tyre and destroyed the harbor and the city and dumped all the timbers and stones into the sea, where they can be seen today. The harbor and island were turned into a place for the spreading of nets.
But this was only the beginning of Tyre’s troubles. After Babylon the Persians came up against the remains of the once great Tyre and her daughter cities. Then Alexandar the Great and his Greek army came against Tyre, and then the Romans, and down until our day and time when the Israelis also came and bombed Tyre and made it for a while the Israeli headquarters during the recent Lebanon war!
“As the sea causes its waves to come up!”
The Phoenicians established a one world unity – a united world trade system and politic, that has not been repeated since.
To get an idea of the influence, wealth, and power of Tyre, read the entire chapter 27 of Ezekiel. This chapter is a lamentation over the incredible greatness of Tyre. There has been nothing like it since the day it was torn apart by the Babylonians, and continually suppressed by the nations to this day!
The statement in the quote above was a trigger that brought an end to the once great Tyre. But was that all there was that led to its desolation. Obviously, that attitude was expressed after Judah has been taken captive by the Babylonians. It was during Ezekiel’s and Daniel’s day that Tyre came crashing down.
And the Babylonians were the ones who destroyed Jerusalem and took the House of Judah into exile!
Could there have been even greater reasons of which that view quoted above was only a small part?
The Corrupted Heart of the Prince of Tyre
Chapter 28 starts to fill in the mystery of Tyre, both the reason for its incredible power, and its great, and frightening collapse.
Tyre was ruled by a “Prince.” He might have considered that he was more than just a prince, but the choice of “prince” is appropriate in the context, as we shall see.
The Prince of Tyre was powerful and he spoke great things about his position in the world …
“Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus said the Master Yahua, “Because your heart is lifted up, and you say, ‘I am EL, I sit in the seat of Elohim, in the heart of the seas,’ whereas you are a man, and not EL, though you set your heart as the heart of Elohim! Look! Are you wiser than Daniel? Has no secret been hidden from you?
“By your wisdom and your understanding you have made riches for yourself, and gathered gold and silver into your treasures. By your great wisdom, by your trade you have increased your riches and your heart is lifted up because of your riches!”
‘Therefore thus said the Master Yahua, “Because you have set your heart as the heart of Elohim, therefore, see, I am bringing against you strangers, the ruthless ones of the nations, and they shall draw their swords against the loveliness of your wisdom, and they shall profane your splendor! Down into the Pit they shall bring you, and you shall die the death of the slain in the heart of the seas. Would you still say before him who slays you, ‘I am Elohim,’ — whereas you are man! Not EL! – in the hand of he who slays you? The death of the uncircumcised you shall die by the hand of foreigners. For I have spoken,” declares the Master Yahua”.’”
There was no question that this “prince” had the talent, wisdom, and understanding to gather wealth, and do worldwide trading. And this made him a very wealthy man of that day.
But there is one thing that was hidden from him.
The Mystery of the Hidden King
He received help from an unseen source. There was some power ruling over him that exploited the wisdom, understanding, talent and skills of the “prince.”
There was an unseen King that was not known by the prince nor by any other person in the world!
Who was this King and how is it that he was unseen and yet able to provide such great influence that the entire world was drawn to the “prince.”
This King was not human! But his influence and power built Tyre and helped to establish the “prince” in the eyes of the nations, and made one seacoast town the hub of international trade that would stagger our minds if we could understand how great it was.
This King acted with the same kind of power as Abaddon and Appolyon, but in this case, it was not exactly like the “wandering destroyer.” However, it did lead to desolation of Tyre, and its harbor and its trade and riches, leaving only a small city on the coast of Lebanon.
Continuing on in Ezekiel 28 …
“Son of man, take up a lamentation for the King of Tyre, and you shall say to him, thus said the Master Yahua …”
Notice that the prophecy is no longer talking about the Prince of Tyre! Chapter 27 was the lamentation for Tyre. Now we are going to hear the lamentation for the King – the real ruler and sovereign of Tyre:
“You were SEALING UP THE PATTERN, complete in wisdom and perfect in loveliness. YOU WERE IN EDEN – the garden of Elohim! Every precious stone was your covering [list of precious stones and metals]. The workmanship of your settings and mountings WAS PREPARED FOR ON THE DAY YOU WERE CREATED!”
This is a CREATED being who was in EDEN. This being was carefully formed and decorated, with jewels and precious metals. He was beautiful to look at and lovely in every way!
“YOU WERE THE ANOINTED CHERUB THAT COVERED! And I PLACED YOU. You were on the set-apart mountain of ELOHIM. You walked up and down on the stones of fire!
“YOU WERE PERFECT IN YOUR WAYS FROM THE DAY YOU WERE CREATED, UNTIL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS WAS FOUND IN YOU!
We are not reading about a man, are we?
However, this being was also a DEAL MAKER, a trader, and from him the prince learned how to deal and trade …
“By the greatness of your trade you became filled with violence within, and you sinned.
“So I thrust you from the mountain of Elohim, and I destroyed you, O COVERING CHERUB, from the midst of the stones of fire.
“You heart was lifted up because of your loveliness, you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I THREW YOU TO THE EARTH. I laid you before kings to look at you.”
This being was put before kings and rulers, and their fate was determined by what they saw. They could either resist the influence of this being, and stand before Yahua as His servant, or they could lust after the “loveliness” and “splendor” and receive CORRUPTED WISDOM.
Which did they choose?
I think it is becoming obvious in this day and time that they have by and large chosen corrupted wisdom and alliance with this being who became crooked and the father of unrighteousness.
“You profaned your set-apart places by your many crookednesses, by the unrighteousness of your trading. Therefore I brought forth fire from your midst. It has devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth before the eyes of all you see you.
“All who knew you among the peoples were astonished at you. Waste you shall be, and cease to be, forever.”
This prophecy is yet to be fulfilled before the eyes of the world and its rulers.
This being still walks the earth. The “King” is still attending super-high level meetings. He continues to make deals by leading the minds of the elite into lusting after riches and what the King can deliver to them through his power.
One more time, before this age comes to its long ago prophesied end, the abomination that leads to desolation will rise again in the hearts of men and women and influence them to choose “corrupted wisdom,” and unrighteousness, and to exalt themselves to the position of EL and the Elohim in the world. This is already underway, because it did not stop with Tyre, or with any of the empires, or with the nations. This “anointed cherub” stalks the earth, only now with more intensity, because he knows his time is short.
Why was Tyre made desolate? It was at least about the inordinate lifting up of the heart of the prince, but that was caused by the influence of the “King.” But considering the amount of power and influence that was working at that time, it is entirely possible that it could have led to the destruction and desolation of the earth, with nothing left alive. That certainly is the threat that is implied in the prophecies of Revelation and Matthew 24, and Zechariah 14, and Daniel 12, is it not?
The future of the humanity does not lie in the hands of mankind. The Day of Man is coming to an end. But one hidden being is still walking the earth with the purpose of destroying earth and mankind. Our salvation does not lie in our prowess or wisdom, but rather in Yahua, the only born Son of EL. Yahua created all things, including the anointed cherub that now threatens the earth. Do you really think Yahua will let that happen? He brought a swift end to the world united under Tyre, did he not?
If you have any doubts about that read Psalm 20. But keep in mind, where the translator wrote “Lord” — that is really “Yahua.”
